There’s a peppermint star lying right here on the table and it’s inspiring as Whispertown 2000’s Morgan Nagler is singing. What mint makers have continually tried to improve upon since the very first of their kind is to make a newer nugget that, when it hits tongue or the side of the cheek, makes the ingesting party feel like their mouth had just gone an taken a December plunge into the waters of Alaska. It’s meant to hit immediately and instantly, that dose of new reality, of fresh chilliness. The mints are supposed to get stronger through the years, the benefit of innovation and chemical masterminds so the ones we have now are the kings of the mint. Nagler, and her sweetly effervescent songs, is the queen of the mints. She’s cute and intuitive and poetic and dashing and shy and uncertain and bold — and that’s just her voice. She’s many of those things as a person too, but the words she writes, such as, “I don’t wanna believe what they say about growing old,” in “Restless,” show her maintaining a glowing optimism, while also showing that she’s heard all of the horror stories and would like to will them into the fiction books. She and the band are currently putting the finishing touches on their sophomore album out in California.

Morgan Nagler’s Contribution To The Question About What Her Week Was Like Last Week:
Last week, I was down so low
There was no yes, only no.
And I realized the depth of the trench,
Could equally stretch, how high the sky!

Last week, my dream was so bad.
I was so weak, and then so sad. and mad.
And I realized, when I opened my eyes,
I only want you. Dead or alive!

Last week, I went to Disneyland!
And my friends, and my Dad, and my friends’ Dad!
It seems hard to believe that Kid will be Man,
And then I held my Fathers’ hand.

There’s nothing like seeing your cousin.
I expected a wall, and was glad when there wasn’t.!
Family you dread, is just family, instead
And together we sat, and drank, and broke bread!
and cried a little

Just yesterday, I played a song where you live.
My friend sang a song, and I was happy to live.
It was your birthday and you were full of give,
The people you meet make it so nice to live.
